To spruce up the image of Bristol Omnibus Company's limited stop services from Bristol city centre to the outlying suburbs, the routes were launched as the "Clipper" network in 1982 - also the year of Maritime Bristol. Seen in the latter part of 1982 when only a few days old is Leyland Olympian/Roe H47/29F 9529 (LWS45Y).
